day 4

The land of the delays and snow days! On the one day we did have we worked on a bunch of worksheets and documents in class. The documents all had to do with none other than the Montgomery Bus boycott. I learned that because of this being a non violent protest it was successful. other factors like bus business going down and white businesses not having as much business as usual. Over all this was a great movement the lead to pretty good out comes.

Day 2

Today we watched a long hoped for movie. The movie was about the Emmett Till case. I found the movie to be informative and captivating, it grabbed my attention and I feel as if I learned more than I would have if I had read an article on the case. The movie showed the point of view from an African American stance and made me see how not only did the case affect the family but the African American population as well. The movie was much appreciated on such a long day and was a great way to connect what we are learning.

day 6

So we had another half day which meant no history sadly on Friday and then on Monday we drop so I don't have much to talk about. On Thursday though we did write letters in the perspective of some one in the Scottsboro boys trial. My group got the defendant, I found it easy to write in his point of view because there were many faulty and down right unfair things that went on in that trial. I try to look back and realize why the blacks were treated the way they were and I come to find myself drawing a blank because no human being deserves to be treated that way.
